Wide dynamic range

IQM provides a wide signal range: from a minimal signal rate of 50 counts per minute, 800 to 1.500 counts/minute for a small VMAT beam segment and 5.000 to 8.000 counts/minute for a step&shoot IMRT beam segment. 230.000 counts/minute for a 10cm x 10cm x6 beam delivering 100 MU at Dmax. 305.000 counts/minute for a 10cm x 10cm x6 beam delivering 100 MU at 10cm depth. More than 4.000.000 counts/min. for a 40cm x 40cm x6 beam delivering 100MU.

Measures any dose from 1/10 MU per square cm up to unlimited. Completely independent of dose rate .

The IQM signal varies linearly with applied dose output. Any change in dose output changes the IQM signal in equal proportion. A 2% change in dose output changes the IQM signal by 2%. A 50% change in dose output changes the IQM signal by 50%.

The IQM detector design accommodates every field size. From the smallest stereotactic field size at any off-center location up to a 40cm x 40cm field. IQM measures a highly specific signal for every field size.

IQM detects any field size variation in either the X- or Y-direction. IQM shows significant signal variation when the field size changes . Changing the field size from 1cm x 1cm to 2cm x 2cm changes the IQM signal by approximately 400%.

IQM shows a high sensitivity for even the smallest changes. A 1mm single leaf change (in or out of a 3cm x 3cm field size) creates a 1% signal change. IQM detects parallel shifts of just 1 mm in  two opposed leafs. IQM is compatible with any multi leaf collimator design and has already been utilized for picket fence tests.
